Prayer of St. Francis

The Prayer of St. Francis

Lord, make me a channel of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me show love;
Where there is injury, your pardon
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.

Divine Master
Grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console
To be understood as to understand
To be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

The Canticle of the Creatures

Most High, all-powerful, good Lord, all praise is yours, all glory, all honor, and all blessing.
To you, alone, Most High, do they belong.
No mortal lips are worthy to pronounce your name.
All praise be yours, my Lord, through all you have made, and first my lord Brother Sun, who brings the day; and through whom you give us light.
How beautiful is he, how radiant in all his splendor; Of you, Most High, he bears the likeness.
All Praise be yours, my Lord, through Sister Moon and the stars; in the heavens you have made them, bright, and precious, and fair.
All praise be yours, my Lord, through Brothers wind and air, and fair and stormy, all the weather's moods, by which you cherish all that you have made.
All praise be yours, my Lord, through Sister Water, so useful, humble, precious and pure.
All praise be yours, my Lord, through Brother Fire, through whom you brighten up the night. How beautiful is he, how cheerful! Full of power and strength.
All praise be yours, my Lord, through our Sister Mother Earth, who sustains us and governs us, and produces various fruits with colored flowers and herbs.
All praise be yours, my Lord, through those who grant pardon for love of you; through those who endure sickness and trial.
Happy are those who endure in peace, By You, Most High, they will be crowned.
All praise be yours, my Lord, through Sister Death, From whose embrace no mortal can escape.
Woe to those who die in mortal sin! Happy those she finds doing your will! The second death can do them no harm.
Praise and bless my Lord, and give him thanks And serve him with great humility.

Advent Meal Prayers III

Before:
Saving God, John the Baptist came to proclaim your message:
“Repent, the Kingdom of God is at hand.”
In this season of joyful expectation may we hear our call to proclaim the presence of your kingdom. Strengthened by this food, may we be eager to serve you on earth. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

After:
O God, John the Baptist prepared the way for your Son. Now that we have tasted your goodness once again, help us to prepare the way for your Son by a life of repentance in joy. We praise and glorify your holy name for ever and ever.
Amen.

Prayer to Our Lady of Guadalupe

ourlandyofGuadalupe.jpg

Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mystical Rose, make intercession for holy Church, protect the sovereign Pontiff, help all those who invoke you in their necessities, and since you are the ever Virgin Mary and Mother of the true God, obtain for us from your most holy Son the grace of keeping our faith, of sweet hope in the midst of the bitterness of life of burning charity, and the precious gift of final perseverance.
Amen.

Advent Meal Prayers II

Before:
O God, as we prepare to celebrate the birth of your Son, prepare our hearts to receive him today and every day of our lives. You have blessed us with many wonderful things. As you nourish us with these gifts of the earth, nourish us further so that we may be effective witnesses of gospel life. We ask this through Christ our Lord whose coming we await.
Amen.

After:
Dear God, you sent your Son to bring light into a darkened world. As we give you thanks for this food which we have shared, may we live our gratitude by spreading the Light of Christ throughout the world. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ whose coming we await.
Amen.

A Family Prayer for Advent — Before and After Meals

If you have an Advent wreath in your home, perhaps lighting the wreath with these prayers would be appropriate.

Blessed are you, Lord our God.
You fill us with the hope of your Son's return on glory.
You nourish us with his light and call us to goodness.

Prayer to Christ the King

ChristTheKing.jpg

Prayer to Christ the King

A prayer to Christ the King, that can be prayed all year, but especially on the Solemnity at the end of the Liturgical year.

O Jesus Christ, I acknowledge
Thee as universal King. All
that has been made, has been
created for Thee. Exercise all
Thy rights over me. I renew
my baptismal vows, renouncing
Satan, his romps and his works; and I promise to
live as a good Christian. In particular do I pledge myself
to labor, to the best of my ability, for the triumph
of the rights of God and Thy Church.
Divine Heart of Jesus, to Thee do I offer my poor services,
laboring that all hearts may acknowledge Thy
Sacred Kingship, and that thus the reign of Thy peace
be established throughout the whole universe. Amen.

Prayers for All Saints Day and All the Faithful Departed

Father, All-Powerful and ever-living God,
today we rejoice in the holy men and women
of every time and place.
May their prayers bring us your forgiveness and love
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

O God, the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful,
grant to the souls of Thy servants
departed the remission of their sins, that,
through pious supplications,
they may obtain the pardon
which they have always desired.
Who livest and reignest with God the Father,
in the unity of the Holy Ghost, world without end.
Amen.

Prayer to the Immaculate Queen of Peace

weprayfor.jpg

Most holy and immaculate Virgin, Mother of Jesus and our loving Mother, being his Mother, you shared in His universal kingship. The prophets and angels proclaimed Him King of peace. With loving fervor in our hearts we salute and honor you as Queen of peace. We pray that your intercession may protect us and all people from hated and discord, and direct our hearts into the ways of peace and justice which your Son taught and exemplified. We ask your maternal care for our Holy Father who works to reconcile the nations in peace. We seek your guidance for our Head of State and other leaders as they strive for world peace.

Glorious Queen of peace, grant us peace in our hearts, harmony in our families and concord throughout the world. Immaculate Mother, as patroness of our beloved country, watch over us and protect us with your motherly love.

Amen.

Prayer for travelers

Heavenly Father, be with all those who travel during these days of summer. Let them be conscious of safety as they travel, and bring them safely to their destination. During days of vacation grant refreshment of spirit crowned with the joy of renewed fellowship with distant family and friends. Remind all who travel that their small journey is but of faint echo of the true journey of life, a journey back to you.

Have a safe and great vacation!!!

HAIL HOLY QUEEN

Hail, Holy Queen, mother of mercy;
Hail, Our life, our sweetness, and our hope!
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve,
To thee do we send up our sighs,
Mourning and weeping in this vale of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate,
Thine eyes of mercy towards us,
And after this our exile,
Show to us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus,
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
